The wildlife art of Francesca Owens
"When Francesca Presented me with her Animals Are Wild series, I was taken aback by the vibrant colors that jumped off the prints. The combination of color made the tigers and zebras appeal surreal." ~ Stephanie Johnson, Exhibition Proposal Coordinator, Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Services
Vibrancy of colors and emotions through expressions are the most common praises I receive. I was born in the Bronx in 1962, the year of the tiger. After spending a young life time dabbling in making my life represent art, I changed careers and dove in face first.
Little did I know that my time and energy directed at specific species
wildlife conservation would evolve into becoming known as an internationally emerging artist and global tiger advocate.
For several years now I have worked with the Save The Tiger Fund (http://www.SaveTheTigerFund.org) in Washington D.C. and biologists in the field of wild tiger conservation from around the globe.
A second compelling focus of my art is my Italian heritage. In 1996 I traveled to a little village named San Giorgio A Liri, just south of Rome, Italy. The relationships of my grandmother's blood line were re-established. In ten years of close contact, with me focusing on learning to speak my family's native tongue, the family ties were re-established and are simply wonderful!
I invite you to visit my website cyber gallery; my news and media pages may be of particular interest if you want to know more about my worldwide conservation efforts and Italian heritage. 'Piacere', or 'pleased to meet you'. I look forward to hearing from you!

"Francesca's painting are executed with great pictorial ability. The artist stresses colors with a chromatic and a remarkable richness. Francesca has a very strong and expressive poetic rendering." ~ Edo Barzagli, Critico d'arte, Collaboratore di Riviste bimestrali, Via P. Giordani, 6 Firenze, Italia
